Our Story

It sounds dramatic but a young woman arriving in Accident & Emergency, with a very serious illness, was the catalyst that led to the foundation of Full Health. Dr Ann Shortt, our Co-Founder and Medical Director, treated this woman on a Christmas Eve. As an A&E Doctor and GP, Ann saw that her patient's illness would have been entirely curable if it had been identified earlier.

The problem, as Ann saw it, was that the root causes of illness are seldom explored adequately. After visiting their GP, patients often do not know what tests have been run, and why and how they should respond to the results. This is also true of company medicals. Unless something serious is identified, patients may not do anything about their results, and yet these results could indicate serious underlying problems unless treatment or a lifestyle change is introduced.

The aim of a Full Health Report is to improve the presentation of health reports and help individuals/employers/health providers understand any medical conditions that need to be addressed, or what steps are needed to maintain and improve health.

Medical Content

The technology has been developed over a three year period by a medical and technical team led by Full Health Co-Founder, GP and A&E doctor, Ann Shortt. It combines every possible scenario of medical, family history and lifestyle information with examination and test results. This generates a personalised draft report, ready for doctor approval.

The medical content, which forms a part of the evidence-based clinical algorithms, is under continual review and it is updated constantly to ensure that it conforms to best practice medical guidelines.

Full Health reports cover a broad spectrum of routine tests including: medical & family history, Anaemia, Body Mass Index, Coeliac, Ferritin, Liver, Stress, Vision, Audiometry, Bone Health Profile, Electrocardiogram, HBA1c, Peak Flow, Testicular Self-Exam, Vitamin D, Blood Group, Cardiovascular Risk Score, Enhanced Cardiac Risk Profile, Haemochromatosis, Prostate, Thyroid, Blood Pressure, Central Obesity, Fasting Glucose, Heart Rate, Pulmonary Function, Uric Acid, Blood Proteins, Cholesterol, Fecal Occult Blood Matter, Lifestyle, Diet & Exercise, Renal, Urinalysis.
