Feature update - October 2024

Our health categories undergo a continuous review cycle to ensure they are always aligned with the highest standards. In our latest release, notable changes include enhanced lung function metrics and two exciting new health categories.

New health categories

We are delighted to announce that our lifestyle diet and exercise module has now been fully replaced with four standalone modules. To complement our existing alcohol and smoking modules, we are introducing two further modules - diet and physical activity. All modules are now available on your account.

Diet: This questionnaire based module offers a more comprehensive assessment of dietary habits along with personalised recommendations to guide healthier choices.

Physical activity: Built upon the globally validated International Physical Activity Questionnaire (IPAQ short version), this module promotes the health benefits that can be achieved from setting and reaching personal activity goals.

Managing the transition

Previously it was necessary to add smoking and alcohol modules to existing products. The good news is, for diet and physical activity, you don't need to do anything! Our development team have ensured the transition will be as easy as possible. Please be aware of the following:

  • Lifestyle, diet and exercise will remain active on all existing medicals regardless of the current status or if a medical is reverted and reapproved in the future.
  • If a medical is edited and the lifestyle diet and exercise health module is removed, it CANNOT be re-added.
  • The new diet and physical activity modules have been automatically added to all existing products that previously had lifestyle, diet and exercise selected.
  • Any new medicals created with exiting products will automatically have diet and physical activity applied.

Lung function

The lung function health category now includes the ability to record peak flow rate in addition to peak flow result. For ease of result interpretation, we've integrated a convenient link to mdcalc.com
